NFL on Apple?

You might be able to live stream Thursday Night Football next year. The NFL has put the word out to digital streaming companies such as Amazon, Google, Yahoo and Apple that this is what they want – and it’s up for grabs – on a non-exclusive basis, of course.

The traditional TV rights will be given to whoever wins the proposal winning war between CBS, ESPN, Fox, NBC and Turner Sports.
The live streaming would feature the same ads and live events as the traditional TV show.

Currently, CBS produces all “Thursday Night Football” games as part of its estimated $300 million NFL deal. NFL Network simulcasts the games and carries eight games exclusively as part of its current partnership with CBS, which began in the 2014 season.

Could you see a benefit to watching Thursday Night Football through a digital streaming service?

Kim Kardashian’s new app

Yaaaaaaaaaaay. A new Kim Kardashian app! Just what you’ve been waiting for? Is it? Is it really? Well, if it is, you’re in luck. A few days ago the super famous Mrs Kanye released an app called Kimoji, which is a collection of emoji’s related to her and her fantastical life that you can use to communicate with your friends and family.

Like Steve Jobs said: “A lot of times, people don’t know what they want until you show it to them.”

The app costs $1.99 and you’ll get access to another keyboard with a bunch of Kimoji’s. Like these:

Interesting stuff.  Download it here.

Oh, and despite what you may have heard, or seen, the app did not break the app store when it was released, but it is super popular. Within a day of release,  it was already the top-grossing entertainment app on Apple’s App Store.

Upload your live photos to Facebook!

Do you have an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus? Do you love taking Live Photos? You’re in luck!

From today onwards, Facebook is rolling out a feature that will allow you to share the Live Photos you love with your friends and family on the social media platform.

The roll out, as always, will take some time for everyone to see, but all users will soon be able to upload and see Live Photos in your Facebook feed using the Facebook for iOS app.

Live Photos are photos that are motion enabled – i.e. you can see the live moments just before and just after the photo is taken.

Even though only iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices can create Live Photos,  all iOS devices running iOS 9 can view them in the Facebook app. All iPhones from the iPhone 4s on are capable of supporting iOS 9.

Live Photo away, peeps!

You guys should probably play with the Google Doodle today

beethoven

The Google Doodle today celebrates Beethoven’s 245th year and is a wonderful little musical puzzle. Apparently Beethoven was a little clumsy, so you have to help him put his sheet music back together in the proper order after he messes it up in different ways!

Happy procrastination and learning about music and Beethoven and Thursday! Yay!

… We’re not sure we have to do this, but what they hey. Go to www.google.com to play!

Do you own a drone? You gotta register that ish now!

Do you own a drone? Yeah? Listen up!

The Federal Aviation Administration just announced new rules that come into effect December 21st.

If your drone is between 0.55 pounds and 55 pounds( including any on-board equipment like cameras), you have until February 19th next year to apply for a Certificate of Aircraft registration, which then has to be displayed on your drone.

If you’re planning on gifting or getting a drone for Christmas or any time soon, these rules apply to you too. New owners have to register their drone before it’s flown outdoors.

The registration fee is $5 per drone however the FAA will waive the fee if users register by January 20, 2016. Registration must be renewed every 3 years.

If you don’t register your drone, well, then, next Christmas might be less fun. You’re looking at penalties up to $27,500.

From the sauce,U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx:

“Make no mistake: unmanned aircraft enthusiast are aviators, and with that title comes a great deal of responsibility. Registration gives us an opportunity to work with these users to operate their unmanned aircraft safely. I’m excited to welcome these new aviators into the culture of safety and responsibility that defines American innovation.”

Well, drone owners, the good news is that you’ve just been upgraded to Aviator status! You baller, you.
