Apple Event media Invites go out!

Apple has sent out media invites for it’s upcoming iPhone event! We think that means it’s actually happening!? Here are the most important details:

The event will happen on Tuesday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. at the Steve Jobs Theater at the company’s new Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.

The media invites offer a first look at what we can look forward to ( kinda) and feature the tagline: “Let’s meet at our place.” (via The Loop)

This event is reported to be the biggest Fall event in years, mostly because the 10 year anniversary of the iPhone is expected to bring with it a fairly different redesign of the iPhone we all know and love. Think a glass body with an edge-to-edge display, a vertical rear camera, facial recognition capabilities, a much improved processor, and wireless inductive charging functionality. We can also likely expect two other, more-like-what-we-know iPhones  (4.7 inch and 5.5 inch) to be released as well.

Rumors are also building around a third-generation Apple Watch with an LTE chip that allows it to be decoupled from the iPhone (Yes!), and the possibility of a new 4K Apple TV.

Following the event, we should see the release of iOS 11, macOS High Sierra, tvOS 11, and watchOS 4.

In case you guys want to watch all the fun and Appley -excitement, Apple will be streaming the event live on its website and on the Apple TV.

Bring it on.

Apple to invest $1 Billion dollars in streaming entertainment over next year

Apple is going full force into the TV world over the next year, with a (quite) large amount of  $1 billion being put aside to acquire and produce original television content .

We say (quite) because although it’s a lot of money to, well, most people, but compared to Netflix? Nooooot so much. Late last year Netflix pledged to spend $6 billion dollars on content.

Oh boy.

But back to Apple. We could be looking at maybe as many as 10 Apple show in the next year, with the budget controlled by two ex-Sony guys,  Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg.

Apple’s foray into the TV production world have so far included “Planet of the Apps”, which was launched in June on Apple Music, and “Carpool Karaoke,” which was launched last week.

What do you  think, will Apple have a hit on TV? The next Breaking Bad? Westworld? … Passions?

Apple Watch Series 3 launch coming up!

According to reports from Chinese-language Economic Daily News report, the “final testing phase” in the manufacturing process of Apple Watch series 3 has begun, with mass production set to begin soon.

The device is believed to be launched alongside new iPhones in September, with the watches being shipped in the 4th quarter.

The rumors are that the new Apple Watch series 3 will have both Wi-Fi and LTE models in 38mm and 42mm sized, however the LTE model might only support VoIP calls.

As with most updates, it will likely have improved performance and battery life, however the deign is expected to stay quite similar.

Additionally, a lot of health related features are rumored to be apart of the new model, however if that occurs with this model or in a later update remains to be seen.

Liquid Glitter iPhone cases being recalled

A company that manufactures glitter phone cases, MixBin Electronics, has recalled about 263,000 of their “liquid glitter iPhone cases” on Tuesday, according to a US Consumer Product Safety Commission release.

This includes all cases for iPhone 6, 6s, and 7 sold from October 2015 to June this year. Retailers of the cases include Amazon, Henri Bendel, MixBin itself, Nordstrom Rack, Tory Burch, and Victoria’s Secret, and ranged in price from $15 to $65.

The recall is occurring because of the scary risk and worldwide reports of burns.

According to a statement from the company:

“There have been 24 reports worldwide of skin irritation or chemical burns, including 19 in the U.S… one consumer reported permanent scarring from a chemical burn and another consumer reported chemical burns and swelling to her leg, face, neck, chest, upper body and hands.”

MixBin has advised customers “should immediately stop using” the cases and contact the company for a full refund. To see the full list of the recalled MixBin Electronics cases, including model numbers, UPC codes, and descriptions, check out the notice on the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website.
