iPhone 7 users- you could lose some of your apps
If you’ve purchased a shiny new iPhone 7 – (hey – what are you doing with your old iPhone? Sell it to us!) then you should be aware that if you set up your new iPhone by installing a backup from the cloud, you may not have all the apps you used to.
This is because Apple has been doing a pretty thorough clean up of the App Store – Apps that have not been updated for a long time or don’t provide support might have been kicked off.
Most likely, you don’t actively use any of these apps, but there is a chance you do.
So, what do you do? Look at the apps you use. Check if they’re still in the App store. If they’re not, back up any data that you don’t want to lose from the app, and… well, unfortunately, the next step is to look for an alternative to the app.
