Our app of the day is bought to you by your potential ability to wear clothes really really well. All sexy like.
Introducing MTailor.

This app will sell you shirts that fit you exactly. Just you. Not that guy Tom you know, not your friend Barney, you.
It uses your iPhone camera to figure out your body measurements and then sell you the precisely fitted shirts. Super cool, right?
It’s a free app, and the shirts start at around $64. The whole process involves spinning around in front of your phone so that the app can make a 3D model of you. It then deletes the video and only stores the measurements for your purchases. 3 weeks go by and then BAM A PERFECTLY FITTED SHIRT ARRIVES IN THE MAIL.
This will be a shirt that is perfectly made for you, kind of like what James Bond would wear. We can’t imagine he wore normal shirts that were just made for anyone like a one size fits all mumu. Because he’s slick and is good at playing cards and women and stuff. Just like you with a perfectly fitted shirt.
The company is hoping to make the turnaround quicker in time and currently you have a large range of fabric and patterns to choose from which would also widen in time, including other items of clothing.
Get the app free from the App store and get your fitted shirt on!

So, a member of iPhone Antidote happened to be out of the country when the Giants won the World Series (sucks to be him). He’s a HUGE giants fan and whilst he was able to work it out to watch the game, with some beers in hand, once the Giants had won he was itching to be back in San Francisco to enjoy the party afterwards.
Now, that wasn’t going to happen, because they don’t make planes that fast (yet) BUT he was able to get the next best thing, watching the party from afar, and that was through a free online social media live streaming video App called Stringwire.
On Stringwire, there was a girl live-streaming video from her phone, following the party throughout San Francisco, interacting with some people, purely watching others, and it was pretty great.
It’s is a new service from NBCUniversal Media which allows you to “Stream in your world real-time with live video from anywhere to audiences everywhere”. You can use it to stream breaking news (slightly controversial) or just what happens in your living room OR you can watch what other people are streaming, be it their sick surf break or the Giants World Series Win after party in downtown San Fransisco.
You can get it free from the app store! Once you have created an account in the App, you can also log in online here.
Go forth and STREAM!

You might have heard that a couple of days ago, Tim Cook, CEO over at Apple, had an essay published in the latest edition of Bloomberg Businessweek. You might not. Either way, you should probably read it when you can.
In the article, Tim Cook publicly opens up about his life as a gay man. It’s something that’s never been a real secret, but also something that’s never been publicly stated, because up until now Cook has kept his private life pretty separate from Apple.
What spurred this public statement is an admirable attempt at tackling discrimination in the workplace, beginning from within Apple. Cook has put aside his desire for privacy to prioritize instead his need for providing a workplace where equality isn’t an issue, be it gender, race or sexuality equality.
Cook believes that equality in the workplace is an important issue everyone should be prioritizing, and that the ability to make a workplace better is a gift anyone who finds themselves in a position to provide, should.
It’s a great read. Check it out here: http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-10-30/tim-cook-im-proud-to-be-gay

So we just had Halloween, and crazy (festive) people are already putting Christmas decorations up BUT we have Thanksgiving first, and we also have that most commercial and highly controversial shopping holiday that is Black Friday. Shoppers love it, retail workers and their families… not so much.
This year, Walmart and Amazon have started their countdown to Black Friday early with discounts having already begun on November the 1st! They’ve told their customers that they’ll be cutting prices on TWENTY THOUSAND items over the next month leading up to Black Friday including a special cyber event on November 3rd.
Amazon also began their lead up to Black Friday on Saturday with the addition of special ‘Countdown to Black Friday Featured Deals’.
Black Friday falls on November 28th, with a lot of stores opening for 24 hours beginning on Thanksgiving. Some people believe that in the name of giving customers good holiday season bargains, stores are purely looking for maximum profit and taking retail workers away from their families on a very family-centric holiday. Macy’s and Kohls have just announced that they both will be opening at 6pm on Thankgiving, which is two hours earlier than last year.
Whatever you think about Black Friday, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be going away or dying down any time soon, in fact the opposite appears to be happening. Try and get the best deals out of it that you can whilst complying with your morals, and you’ll be doing great!
Remember: it’s never too early to get presents! Because presents rock.

Did you know that you can try using your headphones as a microphone in a pinch? Yes sir you can!
If the mic on your laptop is broken or if you need to record something desperately on another device but are not tooo concerned about the quality (something to do with a bet we can imagine as a fine example) then you can use your earbud headphones as a make-do microphone. It doesn’t always work, but there’s a high percentage chance that it will.
Because of science, you see.
Plug the headphones in, his record, talk into the earpiece and WHAMMO! It will probably record (in bad quality.)
Still a good tip.
Updated your Device to iOS 8? Wanna play around with some awesome new keyboard apps that are newly available to good people like yourself? Yay! You guys should check out Popkey. It lets you access animated GIF images within your device’s keybard!
WhAT! HELLO REACTION GIFS ALL DAY LONG
Yuppers. AND it’s free. Did we just totally make your day?
You’ll be able to send GIFS throughout your device, from text messages, emails, etc.
Simply download the PopKey app from the App Store, go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards and select PopKey. You can now toggle between PopKey’s keyboard and other keyboards installed on your device by tapping the globe icon in the bottom lefthand corner of the keyboard.
If you want to make an account and refer a friend (kinda annoying, but certainly doable) you can upload your own GIFS to use on your keyboard. PopKey requires iOS 8 and supports the iPhone 4S and higher*.
Get it free from the App Store!
*Ooh you iPhone 4 guys are really being hit hard this year… ever thought of cashing it in for some hard money and buying a shiny new iPhone so you can do ALL THE THINGS? or go on holiday? We’d love to help out! Get a quote here.

The App ‘Epic Zen Garden’ was used during this year’s WWDC to demonstrate the beauty of Metal, Apple’s new Graphics API, and now you can see it in all it’s peaceful beauty for yourself!
It’s now available to download, but we would recommend only doing so, (sorry guys) if you have an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air or iPad mini with Retina display. You can download the game on older models, however the game really needs the power of the more recent models and will crash on those ill equipped.
There are several different areas to explore which show off the power of the GPU in your iOS device. Keep in mind it’s not really a proper game per se, as developers haven’t had enough time to harness the graphical power of Metal, but this is an excellent start, and well worth checking out. And besides, it’s free from the App Store!

Happy The-Giants-Are-Going-To-Win-The-World-Series-Day!

We all know tech companies offer really, really cool perks if you’re lucky enough to find yourself employed by them. From chef-cooked meals, to gym’s, hairdressers, cool cool & cool, we can now add egg-freezing to the list.
You read me correctly, and no, we’re not talking eggs of the chicken kind. (Side-note – iPhone Antidote are the new proud owners of a chicken named Egg and she’s awesome!)
We’re talking human eggs. The kind that usually live inside women, but sometimes, things get hectic, and then eggs get old and stuff can sometimes get kinda sad.
Tech companies don’t like sad people! So both Facebook and Apple are now offering to pay for the procedure for their employees to freeze their unfertilized eggs for later use. This is actually super expensive, from $10,000 to $15,000 per round plus $500 a year for storage — and not usually covered by insurance, so the offer is definitely a legit awesome one with both companies paying up to $20,000.
There has been some criticism of the offer, with some believing that this is another way the tech companies can have more control over your whole life, not just your working life, and get you to work harder for longer. But Silicon Valleyer’s are big grown up people, right? We think it’s probably better to have the option to make that decision than not to, even if you do have doubts about the intent behind it.
We think it’s just one more amazing perk they’re using to attract and retain employees. Happy egg freezing Silicon Valley’ers!
