*The first Apple Store opened at 10am on 19 May, 2001 at Tysons Corner, Virginia.
*The second Apple Store opened three hours later at Glendale Galleria, California.
*There are now 457 Apple Stores in 15 countries.
* More than half of an average Apple Store is given over to education and support space.
*Some high-profile stores feature a theater for presentations and workshops and a studio for training with Apple products.
*Of the 43,000 Apple employees in the United States 30,000 work at Apple Stores
