Jet Black iPhones face global shortage oh no!

In words that make the situation seem much more dire than it is in a first world problem kinda way, the Jet Black iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are facing a global shortage.

Oh no!

The reason? Yes, it’s proven popular with upgraders, but also affecting the shortage is that the new high-gloss finish, achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process, has proven more difficult for the company’s manufacturers.

Jet Black models suffer from a low casing production yield rate of 60-70%, meaning that 30-40% of units do not pass Apple’s quality standards and must be retooled, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Did you get a Jet Black iPhone 7 or 7 Plus? Is it super glossy and sweet looking?
