Which celebrities use which phones

Yeah, yeah, why should we care what kind of celebrities use what kind of phones? Right? Right?

Well, cos they have people to tell them which is the best one to buy according to style and/or function. And they also have lots of money, so no real barrier to entry.

OR they get the best sponsorship deal. OR they get all phones for free and choose the best one.

Or cos they’re cooler and prettier than people in real life, and we want to be just like them.

Or so we can make fun of them cos they suck, and their smartphone choice proves it.

Anyway, wanna know which of your favorite celebrities use which brand smart phone?

Here’s what our researchers have come up with. Judge away.

Brad pitt uses an iPhone ( Hello ladies) as does Kate Hudson, Sarah Michelle Gellar ( Of course Buffy uses an iPhone. Right? COS SHE COOL.), Selena Gomez, Posh Spice, Denise Richards, Sharon Stone, Miley Cyrus and the Biebs (Uh oh).

Kanye West appears to have convinced Kim Kardashian to swap to an iPhone from Black berry. Halle Berry is also a big swapperer, having changed from being a Blackberry lover.

Speaking of Blackberry lovers, a surprising amount of celebs fit into this category. Who knew?

George Clooney, Megan Fox, Demi Moore,  Leo DiCaprio, Reese Witherspoon, Courtney Cox, Ben Affleck, Rihanna, Paris Hilton, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Justin Tiberlake, Snoop Dogg ( Lion?) and Mindy Kaling (Breath), The Olsen’s, Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen all fit in here. As does Justin Bieber, again. What a category lover.
The President is well known to be a fan of the BlackBerry. So much so, that he has two of them.

Celebrities that use Samsung phones are also different than we expected – a lot less! Perhaps someone in Samsung has to get their celebrity marketing game on!

Jay Z is of course endorsed by Samsung and uses the brand, LeBron James lurves Samsung, as does Eliza Dushku, Nicole Sherzinger and Evan Rachel Wood, Robbie Williams, Anna Kendrick and a whole bunch of Ashley’s; Ashley benson, Ashlee Simpson and Ashley Green.

So the winning phone category if we cared what celebrities like would be Blackberry, then iPhone, then Samsung? That sounds…weird.

Color us surprised.

Country by country who has the most mobile phones?

There are over 6.8 BILLION mobile phones in the world. Yay! Everyone in the world has mobile tech!

Uh…not quite. (Zuckerberg is working on it though!)

Not everyone in the world has ( or wants?) access to mobile tech, but there’s quite a few people who do. Some even many times over.

Which country you think has the most mobile phones?

If you’re thinking it’s mostly dictated by, well, which country has the most people, you’d be about.. 63.2% right ( don’t try and calculate that, it’s a fakestimated percentage!)

Here is the list, ranked country by country of mobile phones ownership around the world.

1. China 1,206,553,000
2. India 867,800,000
3. United States  327,577,529 310
4. Brazil 268,440,423
5. Russia  256,116,000
6. Indonesia 236,800,000
7. Pakistan 125,012,860
8. Japan  121,246,700
9. Germany  107,000,000
10. Philippines 106,987,098

So there you go. Lots and lots and lots and lots ( is that enough lots?) and…lots of mobile phones! Who knew this would be a thing? ( Steve Jobs did.)

National Geographic Photographer lurves the iPhone 5s

National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson went to Scotland ( lucky, cos Haggis and Irish whiskey is awwwwesome) and he took his iPhone 5S.

Uh…and?

AND he took a bunch of photos and said that the camera on the 5S is really, really sahweet. We may be paraphrasing.

He said this exactly:

“With intense use (I’ve made about 4,000 pictures in the last four days) I’ve discovered that the iPhone 5S is a very capable camera. The color and exposures are amazingly good, the HDR exposure feature does a stunningly good job in touch situations, the panorama feature is nothing short of amazing—seeing a panorama sweeping across the screen in real time is just intoxicating. Best of all it shoots square pictures natively, a real plus for me since I wanted to shoot for Instagram posting.

Once I figured out what the camera could do well I began to forget all the things it couldn’t do at all.
While the iPhone 5s still uses an 8-megapixel camera, it utilizes a sensor that has a 15 percent larger surface area, which means it will produce higher quality photos in low-light conditions. It also has a 5-element lens with an aperture of f/2.2, an improvement over the iPhone 5’s f/2.4 aperture and the pixels are larger, at 1.5 microns, for better light absorption. All in all, the iPhone 5s has a 33 percent increase in light sensitivity.”

Have you got an iPhone 5S? How are you finding the camera?

All the cool teenagers have iphones

Are you a cool teenager? Do you have an iPhone? Well, uh, sorry, cos we’re sure this might not be what you want to hear and all…. but you’re now in the majority!

According to a survey administered by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, 55% of teenagers now use an iPhone. This is up compared to 48% in an April survey and 40% this time last year.

“Our most recent semi-annual Teen survey demonstrates that Apple remains the most popular tech brand amongst teens. As of Fall 2013, the iPhone represented nearly 55% all phones used by teens and the iPad family remained at close to 70% share of tablet ownership.

We believe that while Samsung seemingly had some momentum with teens over the past year, Apple’s brand and product quality has enabled it to remain the top choice for teen consumer electronics.”

Here’s the table of results straight from the sauce!

teensurveyiphonesipads

Mmmmm… sauce.

We mean… yay Apple! Way to keep ahead in one of the most important demographics!

And take THAT other smartphone companies for suggesting, like we know you have, that Apple products are for uncool parent type people!

Hey! Everyone’s cool in our books! As long as everyone accepts Bill Murray as their cool King. K? K.

Got Denied Your Apple Warranty? It’s Class Action Lawsuit Time!

GUYS THIS IS LIKE RON BURGUNDY. KIND OF A BIG DEAL.

There is currently an opportunity – with caveats – to get a part of a $53 million fund that Apple is setting up.

Whaaaaa?!

That’s right!

There was a lawsuit that claimed that Apple was in the wrong for denying warranty coverage for iPhones and iPod Touches that had been damaged by liquid.

Apple is kinda saying ‘No Way Jose’  and is not admitting any wrongdoing but is agreeing to the settlement to avoid all the money and what-have-you that comes along with lawsuits.

So. $53 million. That’s a lot of cash, and depending on how many people qualify for the claim, it could mean up to $300 per device.

So how do you get in on this?

Well.

You have to be a U.S. Resident that has owned an iPhone or iPod Touch.

You have to have submitted that device for warranty coverage with Apple after it was damaged by liquid, and before December 31st 2009 for an iPhone and before June 30th 2010 for an iPod Touch.

The device had to have been submitted whilst it was covered by Apple’s one-year warranty coverage.

The device had to be denied coverage because Apple said that the device had been damaged by liquid.

If you qualify as eligible to be a part of the settlement, your payout will be determined by the model and size of your device, the amount of other eligible participants and the size and type of their devices.

Sahweet, right?

If any of you guys think you’re eligible, go to this site and fill out a claim form.

Your claim will be reviewed, and if they agree that all is good, then you’ll get a check!

…At some stage. These things do tend to take some time.

So, again: to receive a payment from the Settlement Fund, you must submit a claim form.

You must do this on or before October 21, 2013.

Of course, if you are eligible but are allergic to CASHMONEY, you can exclude yourself from the payments.

Any questions? Go to the website, or call 1-855-282-8115

Good luck! And don’t forget! Once you’ve gotten that check, sell us that stinky old iPhone!

Yeah! SO much CASHMONEY!
