The second-generation Apple Watch is said to be announced this fall, and will feature an “One Glass Solution” (OGS) display technology instead of Glass on Glass (G/G) technology, according to reports.
What does that mean?
Basically, it means less glass, which means it’ll be thinner and lighter. Instead of 2 layers of glass – there’ll be one and a layer of thinner material.
Any other changes are said to be less design focused, and more about the hardware – faster processer, improved battery and the possibility of cellular connectivity.
So here’s a question for you. Yeah, you. There have been a cavalcade of rumors in the past year that the upcoming iPhone 7 will not have a headphone jack. A bunch of people have corroborated these rumors. NO-one who has any proof, of course.
If it doesn’t have a headphone jack, there’s a strong possibility that to ease the transition, the new iPhone will ship with a lightning to 3.5mm dongle.
What do you think will happen with the headphone jack on the iPhone 7?
THE WORST!
New York-based glassmaker Corning, who makes Gorilla Glass for iPhones, has just announced the fifth iteration of Gorilla Glass which has been specifically designed to offer more protection and durability during accidental drops.
According to Corning, the new version is 4 times as resilient and in lab tests has survived “up to 80 per cent of the time when dropped facedown from 1.6m”.
From the Source, GM of Corning:
“With each successive generation of Corning Gorilla Glass, we have taken cover glass technology to new levels,” he said in a statement. “With many real world drops occurring from between waist and shoulder height, we knew improving drop performance would be an important and necessary advancement.”
But what about the drop from chest height straight into your beer, mister? huh?
P.S. If you have a cracked screen, have you thought about selling your iPhone? Just think how sweet and smooth and easy it would be to see your cyber life without a cracked screen! We’ll give you straight cashmoney for that stinky old cracked iPhone! Get a quote here to receive a free mailer box!
