Experiencing problems with Apple Music? You’re not alone.

newitunes122logo

There seems to be a widespread glitch occurring within Apple Music today – users from all over the world are complaining about getting errors like: “The shared library “Cloud Music Library” is not responding (503).

The error has been reported throughout the day and although not ruinous- as the error can be dismissed and music will be played after another connection attempt – it is slightly annoying.

Apple is said to be investigating the issue.

Did you know you could do this Facebook trick?

onthisday

Remember the good ‘ol days? You know the ones… the ones before the good current days?

If you’re having trouble remembering or just want a fresh face of blast from the past, Facebook have got you! Simple type in www.facebook.com/onthisday.

A feature they’ve been rolling out since the end of March, it’ll show you exactly what you were posting/checking in to/being photographed doing on this day on every year previous since the beginning of time(/beginning of Facebook).

You can also choose to subscribe to notifications so you’ll be alerted when you have memories to look back on.

Look! It’s you 9 years ago when you thought Facebook was just a weird thing that only your friends knew about! Wait.. what are you doing? Uh… you might want to take that down, bro. Just Sayin. And look! It’s you 2 years ago when you were having that party and everyone came and hey maybe you should have another party! And this day last year when you were so happy and in love.. good thing you’re still with whatsername.

Pretty cool and an excellent way to reminisce, but users beware, the past holds some tricky trapdoors amongst the good ‘ol day memories. The feature is still rolling out, so unfortunately it isn’t available to everyone yet.

newitunes122logo

Did you have problems with the iTunes 12.2 update?

Apple may have just solvered your problem. iTunes 12.2.1 was released today, a minor update which includes a number of fixes for bugs that became apparent for many of those who updates to 12.2 two weeks ago.

Some people suffered the horrible fate of entire music libraries being deleted (eep!) as well as other annoyances such as:

– Buggy Beats 1

– iTunes Match where iTunes incorrectly changed some songs from Matched to Apple Music.

– A library problem affecting former iTunes Match subscribers.

If you wish to update, head to the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store.

Deal of the day – Amazon Prime Day

AMAZON

In a couple of days it’ll be July 15th, which means not only is it the 196th day of the year (…pretty cool), and the day that Twitter launched in 2006, but this year it’s also Amazon Prime Day.

Keep it in your calendar, kids, because apparently if you sign up for Prime you’ll get exclusive access to more deals than Black Friday. If you sign up today, you’ll get your first (cancelable) month free. If you continue on with Prime, you’re looking at $99 buckaroos per year.

Sneaky pro tip- If you sign up for Amazon prime and then cancel it the same day – you’ll still get all the benefits for the whole month. SWEET!

New iPhone rumor roundup!

iphon 6c

Apple Music was released last week (which was awesome), but if you’re not into music… this one’s for you. The next big Apple release – The new iPhone. Here’s a roundup of what we can expect.

Size: We can most likely expect 2, possibly 3 models of iPhone released this year. We’re looking at an iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and the possibility of an iPhone 6C.  These will be an update to the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, and iPhone 5C respectively. Think: 4.7 inch, 5.5 inch, and a more affordable plastic 4 inch phone.

Camera: Apparently we can expect the back camera pixels to go from 8 to 12 megapixels, which would be the first improvement of that kind since the 4S came out in 2011.

Color: A new Rose Gold tint for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.

Force-Touch: The new tech that was rolled out with the Apple Watch will spread across Apple devices because of it’s multi layered functionality. The feature recognizes the difference in press pressure. Expect it on the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
Home Button: As we’ve talked about previously, there is the likelihood that in an upcoming model update the new iPhones won’t have the Home button. Some techies are adamant that this will relate to this update, but we’re not so sure.

Hardware design:  There are rumors circulating that Apple will use the same 7000 series aluminum seen on the Apple watch, which is about 60% stronger than standard.

Release date: Expect the new iPhones in the Fall.
