Hey! Guess what? It’s the weekend. How rad is that? And sometimes, we hear, people like to drink all kinds of liquid refreshments on the weekend, like fancy cocktails and fine wine’s and crafty beers.

That’s cool. But what if those things are, like, really really far away? Our App of the Week is here to help, yo!!

It’s called Minibar delivery and it is exactly as cool as it sounds. You shop for liquor, beer, wine etc online, you buy it (with no hidden fees) and some awesome little elf (probably) delivers it to you door within 30-60 minutes.

Whaaat. Is that or is that not hella cool? TRICK QUESTION IT’S HELLA COOL.

Currently, Minibar delivery is available in New York City, Chicago, Miami, Brooklyn, Hoboken, The Hamptons, San Francisco, Washington DC, Jersey City, Silicon Valley, Palm Beach, Austin, Minneapolis, San Diego, Denver, San Antonio, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Dallas.

The App is free, so check it out here, and have a good weekend!

Apps(s) of the week! Beer Edition!

Beer es gut, ya?

Yeah. Beer’s good. So here’s some Apps to get the most out of your beer imbibing experience.

*Beer App.  This is an App that sends your friends one message. The word Beer, with a question mark. The easiest and best way to invite your friends to join you for a beer.

Beer?

Free from the App Store.

*Elixer.  A drinking community! Take a photo of your drink, use the optional filters, upload & share it, rate it, discuss it, browse where and what your friends are drinking, discuss that. Also good for making more permanent memories of where you were and what you were doing if you happen to drink a little too much. Free from the App Store.

*NextGlass.  Kind of like Pandora for your beer-loving taste buds.  Scan the label from within the App, and it will tell you an estimate score of how much you’ll like it based on your previous activity with the App. Then once you rate it from how you actually feel about it, it’ll use that to recommend what you should drink next!

Next Glass has developed a scientific method to choose a drink based on the chemistry behind your taste. Using science and machine-learning you can determine if you like a bottle before you ever taste it. Nifty, eh? It’ll also tell you all the important info about the drink such as calories, carbs and ABV! NIFTIEST!

Free from the App Store.

*Taphunter.  See what cocktails, specialty spirits and tasty brew are being offered up where and when with this handy app. With a list that includes restaurants, bars and liquor stores, see rankings, menu’s, drink information  and wish lists.

Free from the App Store.

Happy Weekend! Get some beer in ye.

App Of The Week!

nnn

Our App of the week is really super cool, and kinda patriotic and interesting and will maybe make you seem all intellectual too (BONUS).

It’s called ScenePast:Americana Road Trip  and it lets you search it’s database by location or peruse a catalogue of over 500 postcards so you can see what the place you’re standing in/your hometown/the historic city center you’ve traveled to looked like over the past 100 years. SWEET RIGHT?

It works in all 50 states and also lets you share the postcards on social media.  The same guys have a similiar app where you can see how locations from Tv & movies have transformed over time as well.

If this sounds like your type of thing, (history and patriotism and cool things and such) it’s 0.99c from the App store.

App Of The Week! Party Edition!

Just in time for the Saturday night, we have our App of the week. Were you guys thinking that this weekend was the perfect weekend for doing an Hour of Power? Yeah?

Excellent.

For those who are unsure of what an Hour of Power (Power Hour) is, excellent. It’s one shot of beer every minute for an hour and it looks like you’ve just found your Saturday evening activity. (Or Sunday morning – look at you!)

You’ll need Ali Spagnola’s Power Album: Party Hour Playlist Maker. It uses your own music, cutting the songs down to 1 minute each and giving you the option to add sound effects for when you have to drink.

It will also connect you to others doing exactly the same thing as you are (for Cyber Power Hour High Five’s obviously), tweet out your power hour party photos, and give you access to Ali Spagnola’s own personal power hour mix.

It’s $1.99 from the App store. Worth it. Happy weekend!
