Group FaceTime around the corner?

After pulling the feature from earlier iOS 12 Beta releases, Apple today seeded the first beta of the iOS 12.1 update  – featuring none other than Group FaceTime – to its public beta testing group, which means it will likely be included in the upcoming public release of iOS 12.1.

Group FaceTime has long been both anticipated by those who want it, and slightly derided by those who have yet to understand the wonder and the possibility of group FaceTime.

We, if you couldn’t tell, are solidly in the latter camp. The feature will let you FaceTime (audio or video) with up to 32 people at the same time on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Calls can also be answered – audio only – on a HomePod or Apple Watch.

Party with multiple friends and family who live all over the world? Yes please!

Anyone who has signed up for Apple’s beta testing program can receive the update over-the-air after installing the proper certificate on an iOS device.

Want to be one of these guys? Sign up on Apple’s beta testing website, which will give you access to iOS, macOS, and tvOS betas.
