New iPads!

Apple pre-orders for iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 have begun in the United States! Have you gotten one yet? According to secret sauces, the iPad Air 2 might have lower supply levels than expected so go DO THAT ISH, MAN! Here! Right now!

You can get free shipping with an estimated shipping time (right now) of 2-3 business days. This will moooost likely increase as time goes on. If you don’t like to go direct through Apple, AT&T are also accepting pre-orders for both iPad models with a longer shipping estimate of 6-10 business days.

If you’re more of an in-store person, Apple has been rather classically vague about in-store availability, saying only that it will most likely be ‘Later in the Week’.

No doubt, if you’re in the market for the sleek power of an iPad Air 2 OR a shiny gold iPad Mini 2, you will get your hands on one, but we would recommend pre-ordering, probably through Apple themselves as soon as you can.

The iPad Air 2 is available in 16, 64, and 128GB configurations, with the Wi-Fi only models priced at $499, $599, and $699, respectively. Wi-Fi + Cellular models are priced at $629/$729/$829 for 16/64/128GB capacities.

Available in silver, gold, and space gray.

The iPad mini 3 comes in silver, space grey and gold, and 16, 64, and 128GB configurations. The Wi-Fi only models are priced at $399, $499, and $599, while the Wi-Fi + Cellular models are priced at $529, $629, and $729 for 16, 64, and 128GB configurations.

Apple Media Event confirmed!

meda

As predicted Apple will be holding a special media event at 10am this coming Thursday October 16th. Invitations have been send out with the above tagline – “It’s been way too long”.

The event will be held at the Town Hall Auditorium at the Apple campus in Cupertino and is expected to be a much quieter event than September’s iPhone 6 and Apple Watch media event.

There are many guesses as to what the tagline could be referencing – from Mac Mini’s, to an update or announcement regarding Apple TV, to a new product category, however most agree that as it is a smaller media event, it will mainly focus on updates to existing products.

The predictions mainly lie with new iPads ( Air & Mini) as well as updated iMacs with (fingers crossed) Retina Display. OS X Yosemite will also be officially introduced, and more than likely released to the public that day.

We’ll let you know whatsup as soon as we know!

iPad mini for the WIN!

You guys remember a little while back, cloud streaming company Agawi released results from Touchmark benchmarking on Smartphones?

You know, when they test to see which smartphone had the best response time, starting from when your fingertip hit the screen to when the response happened?

The one that the iPhone 5 smashed like plates on anti-plate day?

This one.

Yeah, that’s the one.

Well they’ve done it again- this time for tablets. And guess what?

The iPad mini and the fourth-generation iPad have the most responsive touch screens! Booya!

In the tests, Agawi tested both iPads, the Microsoft Surface RT, the Kindle Fire HD, the Nexus 7, the Galaxy Tab 3, and the Nvidia SHIELD.

Apple’s iPad mini was the most bestest and Samsung’s Galaxy tab 3 was the least bestest of them all. Sad Face Samsung!

There are the results, thanks to Agawi:

Seems like being the bestest at screen response time is becoming a thing for iOS devices. Kinda like wearing hypercolor in the 90’s. That was iPhone Antidote’s thing we were bestest at. Now our thing is buying stinky iPhones.  There’s a path there somewhere.

What do you guys think, have you used several tablets and experienced a difference in screen response time?
