Now that the first run of Apple TV+ shows have seen some success and been renewed (The Morning Show, See, For All Mankind, and Dickinson), Apple has begun working on their upcoming shows. Adam Scott has been cast as the lead in a project called “Severance”, described as a workplace thriller set at a company “looking to take work-life balance to a new level.”
The show will have a 10 episode first season ( launch date unknown as of yet), was created by Dan Erickson and will be produced by Ben Stiller.
You can get free 7-day trial for Apple TV+, which costs $4.99/ month or $49.99/ year. Apple is also offering all customers who purchased an Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, Mac, or iPod touch after September 10 one free year of access to Apple TV+.
Well, you might have guessed in the end, but you don’t have to, because here’s the answer: Apple has picked up the rights to “A Christmas Carol,”: a live action musical!
So many good things in that sentence, could we fit anymore in? Yup! It’s going to star all round good guys Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell, who will also produce.
Apparently , and for good reason, the show was the subject of a harsh bidding war, but Apple won out with, well, money. According to reports, they’re paying above $60 million just for talent.
“A Christmas Carol” will be added to Apple’s Apple TV+ streaming service, which premieres on November 1st. It’s not known specifically when “A Christmas Carol” will be available, presumably near… Christmas?
Facebook has announced three new Portal models. You’ve now got the option of new models of ‘The Portal’ and the ‘Portal Mini’ ($179 and $129 respectively), as well as, in a new turn of events, ‘Portal TV’, which, for $149, will turn your TV into a giant smart display.
Which means, giant video calling. Which means, video call parties, obviously. Hi friends! What are you doing in my TV?
The two new standalone Portal models have a 10-inch HD display (1,280 x 800), and an 8-inch HD display (also 1,280 x 800) for the Mini, with improved speakers.
The Portal TV is a camera that you attach to your television’s HDMI port that comes with a small remote control to navigate the Portal TV interface. Not only can you make video calls, you can also watch Facebook Watch tv shows with another Portal TV owner during a video call. Long distance relationships gold right there.
For privacy, all three new devices have a toggle switch that mutes the microphone and shuts off the camera simultaneously as well as a physical camera lens cover.
Pre-orders for all three Portals start today, the Portal and Portal Mini will start shipping on October 15th, while the Portal TV begins shipping November 5th.
If you want ALL the FaceBook things, you can also bundle any two Portal devices for $50 off.
Give people wonderful tools and they’ll do wonderful things!
So begins the 2019 Special Media Event keynote. Tim Cook is, as per usual, very excited about all the very cool things he’s about to show us!! All the things that let us do all the wonderful things!! He says wow a bunch, and then we’re off and running!
Beginning with.. the App store, or more specifically, Apple arcade, available within the App store, which is a subscription based service that allows for unlimited game play for over 100 games, with new games added every month. We see a couple of cool game play examples, such as a new frogger ( who knew we needed a new Frogger? Not complaining).
Apple Arcade will be available September 19th in over 150 countries for a pretty reasonable price of $4.99 a month for the whole family. They’ll also be offering a 1 month free trial.
Next up – Apple TV +
We’ve seen a couple of trailers for upcoming shows, such as ‘Dickinson’, ‘The Morning Show’ starring Jen Aniston & Reese Witherspoon, and now we get to see the first trailer for the Jason Momoa show ‘See’:
Apple TV + will be available on November 1st with more shows added every month in over 100 countries at launch.
You can subscribe for, again, a pretty reasonable price of $4.99/month for your whole family. AND if you’re lucky enough to buy a new iPhone, iPad or Laptop from Apple, you’ll get 1 year of Apple TV + for free.
Now we get to the new 7th Generation iPad, with a larger 10.2 inch retina display with 3.5 million pixels, A10 Fusion chip and Smart connector to connect a full size smart keyboard. It takes full advantage of the new iPadOS ( of course, would be kind of dumb if it didn’t, right?), weighs about a pound, and is made from 100% recycled aluminum.
You can order the new iPad today, and it will start shipping at the end of the month.
Prices start at $329, and for education customers you’re looking at a starting price of $299.
Before we get to Apple watch Series 5, they talk about 3 new health studies that they’re doing: the Apple hearing study, working with WHO and University of Michigan, the Apple women’s health study, and the Apple heart & movement study partnering with American heart association and Brigham and Womens hospital.
If you want to participate in the studies, Apple is launching a new Research app for Apple Watch owners that will allow you to opt in to privately contribute by sharing the data collected. It will launch later this year.
The new Apple Watch Model has an innovative new retina display that is ALWAYS ON. Which sounds annoying, but will actually be great. It’s dulled when not held up, so you can still see it but it’s not in everyone’s face all lit up, and now Apple Watch wearers everywhere won’t have to look like they’re bored of where they are all the time because they look at their watch right in front of there face all exaggerated.
And yet – we still get our all day 18 hour battery life. AND a built in compass! Win much. There’s also a new safety feature – every cellular model has international (over 150 countries) emergency calling capabilities even without your iPhone.
New cases are made from 100% recycled aluminum, there are new titanium models and a ceramic white model.
Apple Watch Series 5 starts at $399 for the aluminum GPS models, $499 for the aluminum LTE models, $699 for the Stainless steel models, $799 for the titanium models, and (fewf) $899 for the ceramic models. You can choose whichever band you like in Apple Retails’s new “Apple Watch Studio.”
Also, Apple Watch Series 3 now starts at $199
Now for the big guns! Right? NEW IPHONES!!
Well, kind of. There’s some really cool things in here, but for some reason the presentation was a little lackluster. So here’s the good bits!
iPhone 11 is the new iPhone model. But we knew that, didn’t we? It has an aluminum & glass design, a 6.1 inch Liquid Retina Display, with spacial audio. Equipped with a A13 Bionic Chip, it has the fastest CPU in a smartphone, with all day battery life, faster face ID, and wireless charging capabilities.
We have a new dual camera system with a new wide camera and ultra wide angle camera with 120 degree view, brighter flash, new monochrome portrait lighting effect, a a really awesome looking new night mode for low light settings.
You can switch between the Ultra Wide camera to the Wide camera really easily mid video by tapping the screen. You can also take a video whilst taking a photo by tapping and holding the shutter button. The camera system looks really neat, and is, according to Apple, the highest quality video in a smartphone.
They’ve also given us an updated 12MP true depth front camera and added 4k video & slow motion. They’re trying to get #Slofies to be a thing, but we’re resistant. Only on animals, guys, please.
The iPhone 11 comes in 6 new colors – Purple, Black, White, Yellow, Green, and Product Red.
You can order the iPhone 11 today, and it will be available in store September 20th starting at $699
The iPhone 11 Pro is a step up, made from surgical grade surgical steel, and the back is made from a single piece of glass. It comes in new colors as well, with Midnight green, Space Grey, Silver, and Gold matte finishes. It also has the toughest glass ever in a smartphone.
It’s 15 % more energy efficient with spacial audio sound, also has the , A13 Bionic Chip, and has 4 more hours battery per day than the iPhone XS – the iPhone 11 Pro Max has up to 5 hours more per day.
Now let’s talk cameras. The Pro has a new wide camera – f/1.8, a new telephoto camera, and a new ultrawide camera f/2.4 with something they call ‘Deep Fusion technology’ to create the best photo. All three cameras shoot 4k 60 fps video.

So that’s the highlights, folks. What did you think? If you wanted to see it in video form, because, why not? It’s Tuesday. And Apple are really good at videos:
The Galaxy Fold will be launched very soon, however those os you who made pre-orders may have had a rude awakening this morning with your pre-orders cancelled by the company.
Folks who had made pre-orders for the foldable device earlier this year received an email this morning from Samsung letting them know that their pre-orders, have been canceled. Why? A ‘rethinking of the customer experience’.
From the Source:
“Ensuring that you have the best possible experience with this revolutionary new technology is our top priority. We are taking the time to rethink the entire customer experience – from purchase to unboxing, to post-purchase service – so in the meantime, we have, regrettably, decided to cancel your existing pre-order. While not an easy decision to make, we believe this is the right thing to do.”
So if you’re still up for Samsung’s Customer experience, you’ll need to place orders once again when the Galaxy Fold launches in the United States later in September. Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy Fold in South Korea on Friday, September 6, but the U.S. rollout is being delayed.
The new ordering process will include Samsung’s “Galaxy Fold Premier Service,” which offers customers “direct access” to Samsung experts and an optional one-on-one onboarding session that walks users through the Galaxy Fold features.
It’s not all woe and sadness though, as pre-order customers who had their orders canceled will receive a $250 Samsung credit that’s redeemable for anything on the Samsung.com website.
The Galaxy Fold is Samsung’s first foldable device, and will be launching after pretty significant problems when the device was given out to media before the previous launch date. It’s priced starting at $1,980.
It’s coming! The media Invites have been sent out, and the date has been (officially) set!
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 10 at 10:00 a.m. when you can livestream the event right from the Steve Jobs Theater at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California.
We’re expecting three new iPhone models, two OLED models in 5.8 and 6.5 inches and one LCD model that’s 6.1 inches, all with camera improvements and a new matte finish with new colors added into the mix!
Ahead of when the launch, we’ll likely see iOS 13 released alongside macOS Catalina, watchOS 6, iPadOS, and tvOS 13.
As of this morning, Apple is accepting pre-orders on it’s online store for its Powerbeats Pro wireless headphones in Ivory, Moss, and Navy. The black Powerbeats Pro have been available since May.
If you’re in need/desire of these babies, you’re looking at 5-7 business days to get either the Ivory or the Navy headphones, whereas the Moss color will be a bit longer at 1-2 weeks.
All of the colors are planned to be available in retail stores from August 30.
You can also pre-order them on the Beats By Dre website.
Like AirPods, Powerbeats Pro fare wireless, feature a dedicated charging case that offers 24 hours of battery life and an H1 chip for fast connectivity to your devices, device switching, and Hey Siri support.
Cash wise, you’re looking at at $249.95. But you’ll look so good with that moss green on your face, dude. So good.
Just weeks away from the (suspected, of course) announcement of the new models of iPhone, we have some more rumors for you!
1- We’ll see a smaller Apple Pencil that will work with the new models.
2 – The new iPhones will have USB-C chargers
3 – But will also support wireless charging.
4 – Triple lens rear cameras are almost a certainty
5 – As is the fact that there will be 3 new models in the line up
6 – Substantially longer battery life has been suggested
7 – We could see all three new phones have an OLED screen, rather than the previous OLED/LCD mix
8 – Line of sight teleportation has been suggested by at least one media outlet.*
So do you think we’ll see anything crazy this year? What feature are you looking forward t most? The rear camera setup could be used really well for AR, so that’s pretty sweet in our opinion!
* It was us. We’re the only ones predicting this. If wishes were horses, right?
Sorry kids, but the silver lining? You might get some new tech out of all that learning!
Back to School sales are on! Here’s some deals we spotted for you guys!!

You guys have heard of ASMR videos, right? Well if you haven’t, Apple’s giving you that opportunity right now!!
As part of their “Shot on iPhone” series, Apple has created 4 6-10 minute long ASMR videos for your listening pleasure!
Here’s the gist – ASMR is autonomous sensory meridian response. Got it? No?
Well, here’s what wiki has to say – ASMR signifies the subjective experience of “low-grade euphoria” characterized by “a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin”. It is most commonly triggered by specific auditory or visual stimuli, and less commonly by intentional attention control.
The first video is called “Whispers from Ghost Forest,” and features a woman whispering about the legend of Ghost Forest.
The second video focuses on wood shop sounds:
The third video features a man walking on a trail and crunching leaves and brush underfoot:
The fourth video, “A calm rain at camp,” features the sound of rain pounding on various items at a campsite in the woods.
Each one lovingly created using an iPhone, and Apple recommends using headphones whilst you watch. Enjoy!
