There is much to be learned from Apple

Apple are an excellent PR machine- there are few other companies out there that control the mystery surrounding their new products so well, brilliantly exampled by right now, months out from the release of their new iPhone.

Everyday whether you’re looking for them or not, there are a silly amount of articles guessing and guestimating everything about the new release– from the name, shape, differences in hardware and software, and even the actual date of the release. They have people talking months in advance, and most of it is good.

Although other smartphones do have a large share of the market– they have nowhere near PR skills. I think I remember reading one article about the Galaxy coming out a while ago… It’s a Sony right?

Part of the PR genius is due to the cult following Apple has created within it’s customer base, and part of it is the huge amount of money riding on every new decision Apple makes. Part of it again is the mystery they shroud themselves in. Everyone has heard the stories about Apple software engineers not knowing what the hardware looks like, and visa versa. They create the idea that only very very few people actually have an idea of the overall product. And that makes us want to know even more.

There are also the tidbits given out at key moments to the chosen few members of the press/tech world from ‘sources close to Apple’ that keep people talking. Will the new release have a metal back? It will have a larger screen! They’ve started producing them! The dock will be a different shape! I’ve seen a mock-up! Will it be called iPhone 5? iPhone X? The new iPhone? How long do I have to wait to own one?!

As a business person, or a wannabe business person, there is a lot to learn from Apple. Look at the new pieces of information, but also look past them at when and how they are created, and how they in turn create excellent PR for the company. You can also look at ways you can benefit– always legally of course- Someone, somewhere registered the domain name TheIphone5.com, which is currently for sale for $5228.00… If you can use what you know to look into the future, and guess what domain might be worth that much or more in the future, take a risk and buy a domain that you might be able to make a big profit from sometime in the future.

There is much to be learned from Apple.

iphone 5 name still in the running.

There is still a chance that the new iPhone might be called ‘iPhone 5’.

Although this would be a great opportunity for them to change it up and to make the naming sequence more logical to it’s customers, Apple had earlier this month sought to gain ownership of the domain iPhone5.com with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The case has now been settled without the assistance of WIPO, making us think that Apple paid enough coin to gain ownership. This may lead some to jump to conclusions, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that the iPhone will be the ‘iPhone 5’, as they may just be trying to control sites so directly connected with their new baby… but it does make you think, which is great PR anyway you look at it.

iPhone latest features: ‘iWallet’ and LTE Connectivity

Apple have won the major ‘iWallet’ patent this March 6th, LTE connnectivity on the iPhone 5!

iPhone 5: Prepare for more

iWallet: Using NFC to control your accounts

On 6th March, Apple won the patent for an intelligent technology named the ‘iWallet.’ The best part of the technology is that it will empower you to simultaneously control all your iPhone subsidiary financial accounts. You can do all your credit card transactions through your iPhone itself, making use of an inbuilt Near Field Communication (NFC) chip. Not only that, you can keep yourself updated about the payments you are making– via the statements from iTunes billing systems. If you are worried about security issues, you need not be—the digital encryption confirms every transaction you are making to be safe and secure. As per reports, ‘iWallet’ will also have a ‘Parental Control’ option—to make use of the features in a restricted manner; much like a digital wallet.

LTE Connectivity in iPhone 5: A surety

Going by the positive feedback Apple received from the latest iPad, implementation of 4G LTE connectivity is almost a surety. Owing to LTE’s superior download and upload speeds over conventional 3G networks, Apple is certainly looking forward to integrate this onto the next iPhone 5, possibly a Qualcomm next generation chip. Perhaps when you are reading this article; Apple techs are busy working out ways to increase battery life in the future LTE iPhone 5.

I wanna see your face! Wireless Video Calls for Free

I Wanna See Your Face!

There have been videophone’s around since the 1960’s. Surprising? It certainly surprised me.  I’m not sure when I started getting used to the fact that I could see the people I was talking to no matter where in the world they were- but I think it was at least several decades after that.

What’s even more surprising is that videophones never took off. Huge phone companies still won’t even talk about the possibility of bringing them out.

What has taken off though; is that instead of using phone technology, now, we use phone apps that connect us across wireless internet. Now I’m pretty sure that was just a sparkle in..someone’s eye in the 60’s. And it’s easy. And wonderful. Here’s a few reasons you should download Skype onto your iPhone right NOW!

1) You can have date night when you’re thousands of miles away.

2) You can see Kangaroos, in the sunshine, on the beach, in Australia, when you’re in the middle of snow in Nantucket.

3) You can show a medical professional your symptoms.

4) You can watch a youtube clip on skype- on someone’s phone, through their computer, to yours, even when your internet has been limited by speed.

5) You can have, uh… intimate moments. Moving on…

6) The best two apps for seeing someone’s beautiful face are Skype and FaceTime. Both are extremely easy to use, and free on a wireless connection. Amazing.

7) Skype is especially awesome, because if your internet is capped by bandwidth to the point that you have difficulty even watching a youtube clip- Skype will still work, perfectly. It reroutes itself through another port.

Now go download it, phone a kangaroo and have an intimate moment with a healthcare professional.

You know you want to.
