State by State Comparison of Broken iPhones

Here we go again.  We have gathered all of our iPhone buyback data (from the best way to sell your iphone, obviously), and we have created a heat map breakdown.

This map shows the percentage of broken iPhones that were sold using our buyback service.  Red states show that we purchased a higher percentage of broken iPhones from that state.  Green areas show that we purchased a higher percentage of used iPhones from that state.

Hopefully your state isn’t one of the dark red ones (sorry West Virginia and Kansas).  The data tends to show that our customers that are tend to be in the country (Kansas, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho) tend to break their iPhones more often.  While the Southern states tend to be quite good at taking care of their iPhones (as they tend to mostly sell their used iPhones instead of broken ones).

So maybe if your like us, and you happen to have broken your iPhone once or twice (or maybe more), then you should consider moving down to the South.  Otherwise, well, maybe its easier just to use our buyback service to sell your iPhone (don’t worry, we still pay a ton even if your iPhone is broken!)

What do people think about your city? (Map Infographic)

Well, what do people think about your city? We were a bit surprised when we checked out some of the results. (Fargo is good? Bozeman, Montana is expensive?!)

So just to be clear, we went through and used Google to search up each city, and we used the phrase “Why is (City Name) So …”

This prompted Google’s Autocomplete engine (you know, the one that pops up the sometimes-silly recommendations for you when you are searching). When the autocomplete recommendations came up, we wrote them down, and the result is here!

The Most Common Google Searches for Each City

After taking in all the data, well, it looks a little sad for most places.  That being said, there was some interesting data:

Four cities were “Great”:

New York City, Denver, Boston, and Nashville

Four cities were “Boring”:

Charlotte, Louisville, Dallas-Forth Worth, and San Jose

And a few others had some pretty interesting ones:

Seattle is Loud

Portland is Weird

Chicago is Windy (Duh..)

and Atlanta is Gay

Sorry if we offended your city, but well, Google said so..

Hopefully you don’t live in one of the “Bad” cities:

Cleveland, Baltimore, Jacksonville, or Memphis

Who Breaks iPhones the Most? (Broken iPhone Infographic)

Well, the results are in.  Since we are an iPhone buyback company (in case you were interested in getting an offer for your iPhone click here), we have decided to compile our latest purchases to make a map of where the majority of broken iPhone trade-ins come from.

We tallied up all of our transactions, and created a heat map that shows where the majority of our customers have had broken iPhones.  The red areas on the map show a high amount of broken iPhone trade-ins for the area, while the green areas show a high amount of used iPhone trade-ins (meaning they did not break their iPhones).

Hopefully your city wasn’t one of the bright red ones (sorry LA and New York).  The data tends to show that our customers that are in larger cities (San Francisco, Chicago, New York, etc.) tend to break their iPhones more often.

So if you really care about your iPhone, well, move out of the city.  Or maybe just get a good case.  Or heck, just go ahead and break it, but make sure to sell it to an iPhone buyback company like ours if you do!

Not eligible for an upgrade but still want to cash in on AT&T’s latest 50% off deal?!  No Problem!

So you saw our last post about how AT&T is running this incredible promotion where they are offering half off on their phones that are priced between $0 and $199.99, but you realized that you already upgraded your iPhone last year, right?  No problem at all!

As it turns out, AT&T is actually offering this promotion even to people that are not eligible for an upgrade!  That means if you upgraded earlier this year, or last year, you would actually still be able to take part of this deal!  When we tested it, our checkout priced at $136 + Tax for a brand new iPhone 5, pretty good deal if you ask us (especially since we buy iPhone 5’s for $350)!

New iPhone to Be Released September 21st!

It is official.  The iPhone 5 has been announced for release on September 21st!  Apple will begin taking preorders for the device come this Friday.  Many of the specs are as we had reported before.  It looks like the primary differences that set this iPhone 5 apart from the last iPhone 4S is that it has a taller body and screen, measuring 4″ rather than 3.5″ previously and it is a surprising 20% thinner.

The device will have the same width, and appear quite similar from the front.  The headphone port has been moved to the base of the device, and surprisingly enough, the iPhone 5 will feature a new dock connector.  The back of the iPhone 5 will be based primarily in aluminum and will be quite interesting to see in person.  In addition, there will be a new processor, as well as several other increases in its computing power.  It will be available for the standard iPhone pricing, starting at $199.99 for a 16gb iPhone 5.

Finally.  The day many have waited for is here.  It is time for the unveiling of the new iPhone 5.  In addition, we likely have a few other cool products to see with the Apple announcement, including a new iPod Nano and a new iPad Mini!

“It’s Almost Here”, Apple to Announce iPhone 5 Confirmed for September 12th

Finally.  A lot of us have waited almost two years for what we have to consider the iPhone 5.  We now know a real date.  Apple announced that it will be having a press release conference on September 12th.  This will be when the new iPhone 5 is announced, and when its release date is announced (likely late September, maybe the 21st).

Just wanted to give a quick little update to help you guys all get excited!  The fun starts in just a few days now!

iPhone 5 Release Date Leaked, Announcement Coming September 12th

It has been a pretty exciting few days if you have been following up on iPhone leaks.  And today, we have the supposed release date of the new iPhone 5 as well as a few other things.  The big date to come is September 21st.  That is the leaked iPhone 5 release date, and this sounds in line with previous expectations (late-September, early-October).

It looks like on this September 12th date, we will have an Apple announcement that likely consists of the specs of the new iPhone as well as introductions of the new iPad Mini and iPod Mini.  This should definitely be a pretty exciting date.
