First Editor-in-Chief for Apple News named

Although neither Apple or Lauren Kern, Executive Editor at New York Magazine, have confirmed the hiring, reports are that Ms. Kern will indeed be the first editor-in-chief of Apple News.

Some believe that this means that Apple has some big ideas for the development of the curation of the Apple News App, along with the goal of cutting down on that horrible, clickbaity,  fake news stuff.  Which would be sweet, Lauren. Just sayin’.

Apple News launched in iOS 9, was updated with iOS 10, so we can likely expect a further update in iOS 11. The app gathers stories from several leading news sources and puts them all on display for it’s users (which, currently is only in the US, Australia and the UK).
