Adele’s new album not available on Apple Music

Sadface.

Adele is NOT sating Hello to Apple Music ( see what we did there) by not allowing her new and much anticipated album ’25’ to be streamed on the subscription music service. Bummer hummer.

It’s not all bad for Apple, however, with the album not appearing on any music streaming service at all. Adele is old school, y’all.

The album is out today! Go buy it? Or whatever you’re supposed to do? We forget. Just Kidding. Kind of.

Adele actually asked Apple to put the album in their retail stores, to which Apple said … “uh, no. We have this streaming service maybe you’d like to use?”

You’re still able to buy the album through iTunes, though.

Deal of the day!

xbox

Target has a pretty awesome deal on right now – trade in a Xbox 360 and you will get a $100 gift card with the purchase of a Xbox one.

Additionally, Target is offering a free game with the purchase of a xbox one (excludes battlefront, rock band 4, guitar hero live and fallout 4)

To get this deal, make sure you local store accepts trade ins, because not all of them do. To find a store that does, check out this link here. This deal is awesome – but if you’re thinking of trading anything else in, like, say, an iPhone, remember, we pay more and Target will only pay in a Target Gift Card.

Sell your iPhone here! But probably get an Xbox first, cos this is a good deal that will run out, and we always give you a good deal !

This weekend is a great Xbox weekend, we feel it in our bones.

Tech service of the week?

breakup

Our tech service of the week comes right at the…right time? No, it’s not a Happy Holidays App, although maybe some people might think of it that way?

It’s called The Breakup Shop and it will break up with your partner for you. For cash, obviously. You can pay between $10-$40 depending on the service, be it text, email, phone or handwritten letter. The breakup content is either written by you or provided.

Once the company has broken up with your partner for you, they offer said partner the opportunity to buy from their gift shop – items like Netflix Gift Cards, or chocolate.

Apparently it’s a way of stopping the ever prevalent ‘ghosting’ technique that recent generations have become used to.  You know, when people you’re dating disappear. But really, don’t ghosts appear? Isn’t that their thing? Like, why they’re scary?

Sorry. Got sidetracked. Ghosts are scary. BUT ghosting is a way to get out of a relationship or a courtship by pretending the other person doesn’t exist anymore. Aziz Ansari talks about it a lot and it’s funny, but in real life, it’s douchey*.

So, these guys figure that instead of being a douche, just let them break up with your person instead! Less douchey? The jury’s out.

If you want to try it out, go here! They’re also hiring heartbreakers! Let us know how it goes! Unless… are you breaking up with us?

* Is it just us or does the word douchey when written sound like douch-AY in your head too?

App of the week – Feed a refugee child for a day

share

Our App of the Week is a worthy one. ShareTheMeal, an App that launched globally on Thursday by the United Nations World Food Program, aims to help feed refugee children in Jordan who are in dire need of our help.

The app allows you to donate as little as $0.50 to help provide food for the children – an amount that has meaning. According to calculations by the U.N. $0.50 is all it costs to feed a child in poverty for a day. The idea is, when you have a meal, you might think about sharing it, and providing a refugee child $0.50 for food for a day.

The app was previously tested in June this year, and the results were promising. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, more than 120,000 users provided more than 1.8 million meals to children in need in the Southern African country of Lesotho.

The app works very simply.

Download the app here, add your PayPal or bank account details and then you can donate $0.50 or over, as much as you like. You can also follow your money to see where it goes – at the moment donations from the app go to Syrian children in Jordan’s Zaatari refugee camp who participate in WFP’s school meals program. There are, according to the U.N. refugee agency, more than 28,000 school age children who live in the camp.

At the time of writing, 1,974,501 ‘shared meals’ had been donated through the app.

Beware the InstaAgent App!

Have you been interested in who looks at your Instagram account lately? Did you download an app to help you figure it out? Was it called InstaAgent?

According to the good guys over at Macrumors, this app is quite probably bad news. An App developer from Peppersoft downloaded the app and it appears to be doing very bad things. Bad things like storing usernames and passwords of users and sending them to a very suss remote server.

InstaAgent is also allegedly logging into accounts and posting unauthorized images. Uh Oh.

The Android app has already been removed from the Google Play store, however as of writing it is still available in the iOS App Store.

Anyone who has already downloaded InstaAgent and is worried should delete the app and change their Instagram password. If you have other passwords that are the same as your Instagram password, you should probably change those as well.

According to Instagram, apps that promise to provide your with information not already provided by Instagram are “likely an attempt to use your account in an inappropriate way” and should be avoided.

Are you a Basketball fan? Have a Samsung Gear VR Headset? THIS IS FOR YOU!

PF48OHZFI4

We’re talking BASKETBALL! The Warrior’s season opener begins tonight at 7:30PM PST, with last year’s CHAMPIONS Golden State Warriors gearing up to play the Pelicans at Oracle Arena.

If you’re unable to get to the game, but are still super excited to watch, AND you have access to a Samsung Gear VR headset – we have some really exciting news for you. Partnering with Turner Sports and NextVR, the NBA will be live-streaming tonight’s season opener in virtual reality. WHAT.

With camera’s positioned strategically around the arena capturing all the live action in real time, you can pretend you’re right there courtside all while sitting in the comfort of your living room.

To quote Mr. Macklemore – Oooh, it’s too real!

The Sacramento Kings have already been in the VR Basketball game (so to speak), streaming two pre-season games, but this will be the first live professional sports game readily available to fans in VR.

Access to the game in Virtual Reality will be through the NextVR app that you can get through Oculus Home. They’ve developed what they call a “lens-to-lens system” for capturing the VR in broadcast quality. If you already have the app, make sure you update it before the game.

Also, watch out for The Kings on Wednesday who are also scheduled to stream their own season opener live in VR.

If you don’t have the Samsung Gear VR, don’t be too dismayed. The Kings are working with VR technology company Voke to make their stream platform available on any VR platform, not just GearVR. You can get Google Cardboard helllla cheap!

Here’s to only watching sports courtside or virtually courtside from now on!
